Coach called me into his office. I sat down and he looked at me with a curious look on his face. "Do you have something to tell me?" I looked at him confused, then to Marcus, then back at Coach. "I don't think so," I replied, "Do I?" He then got a very upset look on his face as if I was hiding something. "Are you sure about that Blake?" He responded.
I looked back into my head, as if trying to remember something I had done or said that would make him upset. I stared off at the wall behind him because I could not look him directly in the eyes. A smile came across my face, but his remained very serious as if trying to get me to fess up to something. My smirk quickly faded and I was at a loss for words.
"Got ya, didn't I," He finally said to me with a huge grin on his face after being quiet for what seemed to be an eternity. "I'm just messing with you Lundgren," he said as he could see that I had relaxed a bit smiled slowly.
He smiled real big now, "165?" He asked. I felt a huge wave of relief come over me as I completely relaxed now and sank down into my chair. His mind games always get to me, it's very hard to tell when he is being serious. Coach is a very hard ass guy and he's not a nice guy to be around when he is mad about something.
"Sounds good to me," I answered quickly, "What about Donald?" I asked. Donnie is a very tough senior on our team and he and I had decided that he was going to wrestle 165 and I would do what's best for the team and wrestle up at 174. "Donnie is too big to be a 165 pound wrestler. He and I both think it would be better if you went to 165 and he wrestled 174." Replied coach.
"Absolutely, whatever I can do to help out the team, Coach." We went on to discuss my weight and meal plan for the remainder of preseason. I am very happy to be wrestling 165. It is what I have been planning on all summer, and I kept my weight at a good number to make the cut to 165. "Can't wait to get back on the mat Coach," I said as I opened the door to leave. "See ya around Carlos," I shot at Marcus, our short Mexican assistant coach.
